Rene Caovilla Shoes

It was a Venetian trader named Marco Polo who first brought the east to the west. So, it is not surprising that Fall 2007, Venetian shoe designer Rene Caovilla took a cue from the famous explorer and integrated the sumptuousness of ancient imperial palaces and the charm of Asiatic steppes with the preciousness of Venetian art.

A jewel of a shoe collection, where precious and semi-precious stones were used as trims, together with embroideries, applications and fur inserts. It’s haute couture for shoes, where the artist’s devotion and the craftsmanship of the artisan are readily seen.

Offering a line of boots in stretch leather or suede adorned with fairy ornaments and high-heeled sandals linear and perfect wefts, in soutage soft leather decorated with cascades of colorful crystals and minute embroideries of ancient inspiration, Rene Caovilla seduces with luxury and artistry.

But of course, those two words are familiar grounds for the Venetian designer. After all, he worked closely with Valentino, Christian Dior and Chanel crafting for the Parisian catwalks dreamlike, richly imaginative footwear, mixing fairytale and reality
